Stockinette is a 100% cotton continuous open-ended netting material designed to enable the easier fitting of your cushions. It will also reduce friction between the outer cover and the cushion interior, which increases the lifespan of the outer cover and helps prevent creasing as it allows the cover to return easily to its original position after use. When using for a cushion cover make sure to allow at least double the length of the cushion eg: if your cushion is 1 metre long, order 2 metres of stockinette to suit.
Stockinette is a very stretchy highly absorbent knitted cotton that is also commonly used for cleaning and polishing applications. It has a number of other uses including: bean bag liners, meat bags (camel, mutton, beef, pork), clothing, cleaning cloths, rags, medical use (compression bandages) and in various surgical applications.
